Dr. Maria Perifanou (F) is a project coordinator and a researcher in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). She holds a Master degree in ICT and Foreign Language education from Ca’ Foscari, University of Venice, (IT) and a Ph.D. from the University of Athens, (GR), in the field of Applied Linguistics with a focus on the use of emerging Web 2.0 tools in language learning (WebQuests 2.0, Collaborative Blended Learning Methodology-CBLM).
Over that last ten years she has collaborated with various European research institutions on several EU projects such as the “Webquest for HRM” project – Capacity Building in SMEs (project initiator and leading researcher), the “Web2LLP” project, the LaProf project, etc. Recently, she has worked at P.A.U Education (Spain) with the team of Open Education Europa as TEL consultant and project coordinator. She has also collaborated with the Greek NGO Active Citizens Partnership as a senior researcher (LangMOOC Erasmus+ project initiator & leading researcher). Currently, she collaborates with the SMILE (Smart and Mobile Interactive Learning Environments) Lab, University of Macedonia (Greece) as a senior researcher (2 COST actions and other research and training activities).
Her main practice and research concerns: Vocational Training, Adults’ Training, Lifelong Learning, Web 2.0, Technology Enhanced, learning (TEL), MOOCs, Open Learning, OERs, Learning Analytics, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), WebQuests 2.0, Blended Learning, Collaborative Learning, Mobile learning, Personal Learning Environments (PLEs), etc. She is author of number of research papers and a variety of handbooks that propose innovative learning methodologies (WebQuest2.0, MOILLE framework etc.) as well as co-organiser of open seminars and big events like the JTEL Summer Schools, the PLE conferences, the Open Education European Teachers’ Contest, The European MOOCs webinar, the high level European Conference “Education in the Digital Era”, etc.
She is a member of different European TEL research networks and communities and she has also been awarded with several international and national scholarships and fellowships for her research (by STELLAR, UNESCO, EATEL, GRnet).
