Summer School - Call for Participation

Ph.D. students interested in educational technology participate in the 16th EATEL Summer School.

SMILE Lab is proud to co-organize the 16th EATEL Summer School on Technology Enhanced Learning at Halkidiki, Greece, on May 23-30, 2020.

The summer school provides doctoral candidates with a perspective of state-of-the-art research on Technology Enhanced Learning. The programme includes practical and methodological workshops as well as opportunities for PhD students to develop their research and discuss their doctoral work. Furthermore, it will help doctoral students to build bridges for future collaborations with experts in the field and peers across Europe.


What we do


SMILE's main research activities are in the area of Mobile Learning . We tackles problems such as the need for everywhere and anytime continuous learning.


SMILE designs, develops and evaluates Educational Interventions. We create mobile interactive learning systems that enable learners to learn whenever and wherever they need to.


SMILE provides blended teaching, training and assessment to students, educators, workers, entrepreneurs, professionals and unemployed on multiple subjects.


Use devices and networks to support various types of learners and to operate various educational activities in any environment.


Address real-life challenges in education (learning, teaching, training, assessment) using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).


Incorporate social networking, urban computing and serious games into course design and delivery of a hands-on, real-world approach to education.


Students are taking control of their own learning experience.
